Ducati was the champion stallion at the British Hanoverian Horse Society and the Warmblood Breeders’ Studbook UK licensing in 2022. He combines the celebrated bloodlines of Desperados FRH and Sir Donnerhall I. Ducati, bred in Vorwerk, Germany by Johann-Hinrich Koj, is an elegant, beautiful, modern type with a very elastic trot and canter. He is also supple, adjustable and intelligent over jumps, coming from an elite motherline of event horses.
At his licensing, head judge Dr Ludwig Christmann commented that “He stood out as the winning stallion of the entire licensing. The stallion ideally combines the advantages of both parents: Really good type and movement, long legged and compact with a strong back, in addition very athletic and with a lot of energy that can be regulated very well”.
Sire Desperados FRH (De Niro x Wolkenstein II) was a beautiful black horse, formidable in competition and as a breeding stallion. Desperados ranked number 1 for Dressage Horses in the 2016 FEI/WBFSH Sire Rankings and was also crowned Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2016. He was the most expensive non-licensed 2 year old colt at auction in 2003 where he sold to Gestut Sprehe. In 2004 he was awarded premium status at his licensing under saddle, before going on to complete his 30 day test in Schleickau and win the Bundeschampionate as a 3-year old in the same year. He was awarded bronze at the Bundeschampionate in 2005 also. He completed his 70 day test in Schleickau in 2006. Trained and competed by Falk Rosenbauer, he moved up to Grand Prix level and won the 2010 Hamburg Dressage Derby. In 2011 Kristina Sprehe took over the ride and they became the Otto Lorke Prize recipients for the best young Grand Prix horse. They won medals at the 2012 London Olympics, 2014 World Equestrian Games and 2013 and 2015 European Championships. At the Rio Olympics in 2016 they won Team Gold and Kur Bronze. In 2012 Desperados was awarded the Grande Prize entitling him to his FRH suffix.
Dam Feldgoldchanti (Sir Donnerhall I x Beach Boy) is an elite Oldenburg mare who competed to 3* eventing and comes from the motherline of the premium stallions Sterntaenzer (Silvio I) and Barchello (Belissimo M) as well as Sirtaki (Sir Donnerhall), Remix (Royal Hit), Belissario (Belissimo M), Pik Solo (Pik Bube I), Any Tyme (Acord II), Averner (Acord II) and Clintadel (Clinton). The addition of Beach Boy blood through Ducati’s motherline makes him an exciting prospect for event horse breeders and Ducati carries more than 40% thoroughbred blood.
Ducati is an absolute joy to work with at home and is a kind horse with a wonderful work ethic. We are delighted to be able to offer him to British Breeders from 2023 and look forward to seeing his first crop of foals.
